David Kennedy, Pulitzer-prize winning author of Freedom From Fear: The American People in Depression and War, 1929-1945. He is professor of history emeritus, a senior fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment, and the co-director of The Bill Lane Center for the American West at Stanford University.
